The Association is a union of local governments that knowingly joined their efforts and resources to meet the needs of their local communities in the modern media, new technologies, investment, cooperation development and exchange of experience between Ukrainian and foreign partners in the areas of sparing and efficient use of the energy resources, energy security, providing high quality energy services, environmental protection and sustainable development of settlements.

Our Mission

The Association promotes energy efficiency and expanding of the renewable energy sources as important components of sustainable community development in Ukraine.

Main Objectives

Association assists local authorities in solving of four global problems of the municipal power engineering:

• formation of new attitude and culture of citizens in regard to the use of traditional and alternative energy;
• mastering of modern techniques for satisfying the needs of urban residents in energy products and services;
• formation of organizational and managerial potential of local governments to address energy efficiency, energy security and environmental protection;
• efforts integration and mobilizing resources of all concerned partners to implement energy efficiency and renewable energy sources programs.

Association Activities in 2008-2012 are concentrated in the following fields:

1. Increasing of the public awareness on issues of energy efficiency, energy security and global climate change.
2. Formation of energy policy for local communities on the basis of sustainable development, which involves improving the quality of energy services, reduction in fossil fuel consumption and the environment pollution.
3. Development of effective systems of city usable energy management based on modern methods of monitoring, analysis, planning and control of energy facilities.
4. Development of the innovative financing mechanisms for municipal energy efficiency programs.
5. Association organizational development.
